The City of Kingston will be laying the final layer of asphalt at intersections in the hub area and along Division Street between Colborne and Brock Streets starting Monday, May 13, 2019 until Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Motorists can expect significant delays due to lane closures while crews complete final layer of asphalt in the locations below:

  • Barrie Street at Queen Street: Monday, May 13, 2019  to Thursday, May 16, 2019

  • Brock Street at Division Street: Wednesday, May 15, 2019 to Thursday, May 16, 2019

To accommodate this work, Division Street will be closed according to the schedule below. Division Street will remain open where it intersects with Brock Street, Princess Street, and Colborne Street, but motorists will be affected by lane restrictions.

The following blocks of Division Street will be closed to allow for paving:

  • Johnson Street to Brock Street: closed Tuesday, May 14, 2019 to Wednesday, May 15, 2019. The intersection of Brock Street and Division Street remains open.

  • Princess Street to Brock Street: closed Tuesday, May 14, 2019 to Thursday, May 16, 2019. The intersection of Division Street and Princess Street remains open.

  • Princess Street to Colborne Street (including at Queen Street): closed Wednesday, May 15, 2019 to Thursday, May 16, 2019. The intersection of Division Street and Colborne Street remains open.

This work represents the end of the Princess Street reconstruction project, a decade long effort to rebuild Kingston’s main street between Lake Ontario and Division Street.
