City offers trees at reduced prices for Kingston property owners

Starting today, Monday, Jul. 4, 2022, Kingston residents can purchase trees from the City’s Neighbourhood Tree Planting Program. In the early spring, the City opened the first round of the program for 2022, and, in this second round, trees will be available to purchase until August 4, or until supply runs out.
“Trees provide shade, store greenhouse gasses, help remove pollutants from groundwater, prevent soil erosion, and beautify our community,” said Troy Stubinski, Public Works Operations Manager for the City of Kingston. “Purchasing a tree is an excellent way to improve your property and help grow our canopy – which benefits all Kingstonians.”
Property owners who have purchased trees from this program in the past are welcome to purchase again, according to the City. Households are limited to two tree purchases per sale.
According to a release from the City, 10 different species of trees are available for purchase. Trees will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Coniferous trees are $10 and deciduous trees are $17 (HST included).
