This September the Intercultural Arts Festival will return to the limestone city, and the City of Kingston is looking for local performers, restaurants, and volunteers to help make this event a success.

The Intercultural Arts Festival, previously run by the Kingston Immigration Partnership (known then as the Multicultural Arts Festival), is a free, family-friendly celebration of Kingston’s diversity, according to the City, and includes food, music, art, and culture. It will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, at Confederation Basin.

According to a release from the City, some of the festival attractions will include a fashion show, food vendors, performances, and workshops.

“After two years on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to have this incredible celebration back in our community. But for this event to be a success, we need you,” said Jon Hayter, Supervisor for Special Events and Marketing, City of Kingston.

Performers, restaurants, and people interested in volunteering on the day of the event are encouraged to contact the special events team by Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at 613-546-4291 ext. 1715 or by emailing [email protected].

“Kingston is home to people from all backgrounds and who possess immense talent,” Hayter stated. “Please, bring your skills and your passion to the Intercultural Arts Festival.”
