City invites feedback on Parks and Recreation Master Plan update
The city is inviting community members to attend the Parks and Recreation Master Plan update open house taking place Monday, Jun. 3, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the INVISTA Centre (1350 Gardiners Rd). Project consultants, Sierra Planning, and management will give a presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Children are welcome to attend. Activity bags with colouring books, crayons, and activities will be available.
“The feedback received over the past 12 months from residents, user groups and community partners has informed the plan update,” said Luke Follwell, director of recreation and leisure services for the City of Kingston. “We’re looking forward to sharing the proposed ideas and options, and then implementing the plan to help Kingstonians lead healthy lives.”
The Parks and Recreation Master Plan provides an implementation strategy for the development of parks and recreation services until 2025, including:
- Arenas, pools, gyms and community centres
- Sports fields, courts and marinas
- Parkland and trails
- Programming and events
