Kingston’s Church Athletic League (CAL) hosted its Day of Champions on Saturday, Mar. 4, 2023, marking the end of a season full of competition and camaraderie.

The Day of Champions saw hundreds of youth hockey players fill the Kingston Memorial Centre, with family and friends cheering on the young athletes in the championship game. At the same time, rinks around Kingston saw consolation games take place, including at the CUPE 109 ice pad of the INVISTA Centre, and the Constantine Arena.

For those with the league, it was a successful day to mark the end of a successful season – one the likes of which organizers, coaches, and players had not seen in years.

“The CAL (Kingston Church Athletic League) would like to thank all players, coaching volunteers, organizers and families for their participation in our first uninterrupted hockey season since the pandemic began,” said Andrew McCann, CAL Coach, parent, and tournament organizer.

“It’s been an amazing 6 months of minor hockey with fun competition and learning for young people from ages 5 to 17!”
