Brandishing swords and threatening neighbour leads to arrest, charges for Kingston man

One tenant at a west end apartment building had a frightening experience when he was threatened by another tenant who was wielding swords in the hallway.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Apr. 10, 2019 when the male victim, having heard a commotion in the hallway of his apartment building, stepped out of his apartment and was confronted by the accused man, who was holding two swords at the ready position. The accused man then proceeded to threaten the victim with death, at which time the victim retreated back into his apartment.
The victim contacted the building’s superintendent at approximately 7 p.m. to alert the superintendent that the accused man had threatened him while brandishing swords in the hallway of the building.
Police responded to the address and arrested the accused man, who surrendered without incident, according to Kingston Police.
The 25-year-old Kingston man was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, and uttering threats.
