Kick off your holiday shopping in cozy downtown Belleville. The Downtown District BIA, alongside the City of Belleville, has pulled out all the stops this holiday season. From light displays and horse and carriage rides to a holiday market and ice skating rink, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

The streets of historic downtown Belleville are strung with beautiful lights, and shops are open late for holiday shoppers. Take some Instagram-worthy snaps at the LED swing set in the Ekort Realty Courtyard, and see the giant stars at the Belleville Public Library.

“Imagine walking through a magical holiday market where you’re surrounded by interactive lighting displays, music on the streets, fire pits, ice skating, swings, carriage rides, and more,” said Elisha Purchase, Tourism and Product Development Supervisor at the City of Belleville. “Join local artisans and small business owners and make those winter wonderland dreams come true in November and December at Belleville’s Enchanted Holiday Market.”

The Enchanted Holiday Market will be in full swing every Thursday through Sunday from November 17 to December 18. Get your holiday shopping under wraps at this artisan market, where you’ll find new vendors each week! The Enchanted Holiday Market’s holiday huts will be spread out along Front Street so visitors can check them out while also going from store to store. The artisans will be on site from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

When you need a break from shopping, lace up your skates and take a turn around the skating rink behind the Belleville Public Library. Or, take a free horse and carriage ride on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 12 to 3 p.m.

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Belleville to bring the joyful holiday spirit to life in the Downtown District. This event shows what excellent results we can achieve when we work together for the betterment and well-being of the community,” said Luisa Sorrentino, Executive Director of the Belleville Downtown District BIA. “We hope everyone can make it to Downtown Belleville to witness and enjoy the enchanted atmosphere.”

Santa will be visiting the Downtown District every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and with stores open late, there are lots of opportunities to get all your holiday shopping done on time!

Enjoy live music in the Downtown District as you choose gifts for everyone on your list. Fridays will see live music in the restaurants, and on Sundays, downtown Belleville will be filled with Holiday music and carolers.

When you’ve finished your shopping, head over to Jane Forrester Park for the annual Festival of Lights. Every night from November 18 until January 3, the park will be awash in an array of lights, movements, and sounds. Festival of Lights is supported by the City of Belleville, along with community sponsors who give so generously each year.
