Assault with a cane leads to arrest in downtown Kingston

Kingston Police and Frontenac Paramedics responded to an address on Concession Street in downtown Kingston after one man assaulted another man with a cane.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m., when the accused man struck the victim with a cane near his eye, causing the victim to bleed from the area. The assailant fled the scene, and multiple Kingston Police vehicles searched the side roads surrounding the area. The accused man was located a short time after by police, and arrested.
According to Const. Ashley Gutheinz, Media Relations Officer for Kingston Police, the accused man was charged with assault with a weapon, though further charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
Paramedics checked over the victim, and left a short time later.
