Annual Regatta raises over $13K for Easter Seals Ontario

Earlier this month, Easter Seals Ontario held its annual Summerfest Regatta, hosted by the Kingston Yacht Club and the Rotary Club of Kingston, in support of kids with physical disabilities.
Over $13,000 was raised through the Regatta, which took place on Sunday, Jul. 9, 2023. The funds will help to power Easter Seals Ontario’s programs and services that support children and youth with physical disabilities in the Kingston community and across the province, according to a release from the organization.
“Every year, we are honoured to spend a beautiful summer day with local families and community members,” said Linda Clouthier, Community Engagement Officer, Easter Seals Ontario. “We have a deep sense of gratitude for the participation of local sponsors and sailors who contribute to the success of the Regatta year after year.”
In the release, Easter Seals Ontario extended a very special thank you to Glen Warner, the commandant at Kingston Yacht Club and owner of Capital Movers, an event sponsor. A heartfelt thank you also went out to the top fundraisers of the event, Mary and Phil, as well as to all the incredible participants who showed their support through generously partaking in the event.

“The Regatta could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the event committee, in addition to the Rotary Club of Kingston and the many dedicated volunteers who were instrumental in the day,” the organization stated.
Easter Seals Ontario has been a leading provider of programs and services for children and youth with physical disabilities since 1922. The organization is a registered charity, and offers a wide range of programs and services, including mobility and accessibility equipment funding, fully accessible summer camps, post secondary scholarships, youth ambassadors, and advocacy and public awareness. Easter Seals is only able to provide these programs thanks to the generous support of its donors and sponsors.
