Amherstview man charged for theft from residence in late 2018

A 51-year-old man from Amherstview has been arrested and charged in relation to a theft from a home in the same town.
Officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began looking into the theft from the Amherstview residence in late 2018, according to a press release from the OPP.
On Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, as a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged Shawn Jones, 51, of Amherstview with possession of stolen property and theft, both contrary to the Criminal Code.
Jones was later released on a promise to appear in court and was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee the same day as his arrest.
