Updated Return to School Plan for ALCDSB includes staggered entry for students

The Algonquin Lakeshore District Catholic School Board (ALCDSB) has released an updated Return to School Plan.

Updated information includes revised start dates for all grades, further details on remote learning, details about the school environment, including lockers, backpacks, lunch etc., health and safety details, and specific information on masks, screening, ventilation, etc.

Students will return to school with staggered entry

Elementary students will resume classes as per this schedule:

Year 1 (JK) students will be having staggered entry as determined by each school. Parents will be provided with more information by their school.

  • Thursday, September 3: Year 2 (SK) Kindergarten to Grade 3
  • Friday, September 4: Year 2 Kindergarten to Grade 3
  • Monday, September 7: LABOUR DAY, NO SCHOOL
  • Tuesday, September 8: all Year 2- Grade 8

Note: St. Paul Catholic Secondary School is a Grade 7-12 school and may require a different schedule. The school will send out information closer to the start date.

Secondary students will resume classes as per this schedule:

  • Thursday, September 3, 2020: Grade 9 students in school
  • Friday, September 4, 2020: Grade 9 & 10 students in school
  • Monday, September 7: LABOUR DAY, NO SCHOOL
  • Tuesday, September 8, 2020: Grades 9-12 in school

The Return to School Plan also includes information on all in-person academics, as well as field trips, textbooks and technology, and gymnasium time.

Remote learning information has been updated to include the most recent details from the Ministry of Education.
