Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) has announced that temporary remote learning will continue for all students of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School for the next two weeks.

ALCDSB confirmed three positive COVID-19 cases at the school on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020. Students and staff were re-assigned at that time to work from home for Monday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020.

“To ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and greater school community the Board has decided to extend this re-assignment and transition to temporary Remote Learning until Friday, November 20, 2020,” said a statement from the Board this afternoon.

“Students and staff will return to school on Monday, November 23, 2020 pending any further direction from Public Health.”

ALCDSB said they have notified parents and guardians of this change, and will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

“We would like to thank our school communities for their resiliency and willingness to adapt during what has and continues to be a challenging time for our community,” the Board said.
