Additional case of COVID-19 at Kingston Lowe’s

Lowe’s Canada now confirms a second case of COVID-19 associated with its Kingston store. The notification comes two days after the first case was confirmed on Dec. 9, 2020.

“We were informed on Dec. 11 that another associate who works at our Lowe’s Kingston store located at 1035 Gardiners Road, received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis,” said Lowe’s Canada in a release.

“The associate last worked on December 9, i.e. before we proceeded to an extensive cleaning and disinfecting of the premises on December 9 after closing the store, actions that were in addition to the enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures already in place.”

Lowe’s Canada says that all associates identified as having been in close contact with the infected associate have now been put on preventive paid quarantine at home.

“We also duly reached out to local public health authorities regarding the situation, and the store remains open,” the store said in the release.

Lowe’s Canada is advising customers, vendor representatives, delivery drivers, and other service providers that anyone who visited the store on Nov. 28, or on Dec. 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 or 9, is encouraged to monitor for symptoms until December 23, inclusive (if you visited the store on December 9), and to call Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 if needed.
