Accident involving vehicle and pedestrian sends Kingston man to hospital

The Kingston Police Traffic Unit is investigating a serious collision a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just east of the city.

On Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at approximately 4:05 a.m., a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 2 struck the pedestrian near Niagara Park Drive. The pedestrian, a 24-year-old Kingston man, was taken to hospital by Frontenac Paramedics with life threatening injuries, and he currently remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The area of Highway 2 was shut down for a period of time as a Kingston Police Traffic Unit Level 4 Reconstructionist investigated. No charges are anticipated against the driver at this time, but the investigation is on-going, Kingston Police said in a press release.
