A message from Dr. Kieran Moore regarding Victoria Day long weekend

The following is a message from Dr. Keiran Moore, Medical Officer of Health for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health, regarding the 2020 Victoria Day long weekend and the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“This May holiday weekend it is important to remain vigilant and continue to practise social and physical distancing and regular hand washing. Although this is a time that people will be tempted to have large group or family gatherings, we must continue to stay within our own family unit.
“If we do not continue to practise public health measures this weekend, it could lead to a high risk of COVID-19 transmission. If anyone begins to develop symptoms later next week, it is important to get tested at our assessment centre. We must continue to expand the testing and increase surveillance. We can not let our guard down.“
