A guide to the reopening of patios in Kingston

We did it Kingston! We went rogue and now our patios are open. The weather is getting warmer, the hair cuts are getting shorter and the community is coming together once more. But with great freedom comes great responsibility. So here are some tips to follow if you want to enjoy patio season while keeping the community in mind:
- Continue to wear a mask when possible
- Call ahead to book your seat
- Keep your distance when possible
- Ask for your whole order at once so the wait staff don’t have to come back and forth too many times
- Don’t go out if you are feeling sick,
- BYOPPE (bring your own personal protective equipment, hand sanitizer etc.)
- If you do need to cough or sneeze, do it into your elbow
- Be kind to the staff, and be patient as everyone works through the kinks of reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic
And because we know that Kingstonians love their patios, we’ve compiled a list of the patios that have opened in the Limestone City so you’ll know where you can go to grab a meal or a drink, all while staying safe and trying to maintain a social bubble (as recommended by the Government of Ontario).
People enjoying the patios at Harper’s and Score Pizza on Friday, Jun. 12, 2020. Coffee and a snack enjoyed by small groups of two at Crave Coffee House. A small group take in the sunshine and lunch at Olivea. The Public House filled their patio on Friday, Jun. 12, 2020, and is ready for nighttime outdoor dining with their heater. Some things have changes about the patio experience, but you can still find great eats in the sun in many places around Kingston. Two people enjoy coffee on Princess Street at Coffee and Company.
