The Downtown Kingston Business Improvement Area (BIA) has announced “an action-packed summer” with free outdoor live music performances three days a week, all summer long in downtown Kingston.

Over 50 free outdoor concerts will take place as part of the Live 365 Summer Music Series in downtown Kingston. The weekly musical events begin on Wednesday, Jun. 26, 2024, with Swingin’ Summer.

“If you loved Big Band Fridays, you’ll love Swingin’ Summer! Enjoy jazzy tunes from local Big Bands every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Amphitheatre behind City Hall starting June 26th. This year, enjoy free swing dancing lessons an hour before the music starts!,” the BIA stated in a media release.

Then on Fridays, “buckle up” for live country music. According to the release, every Friday, a country music artist will be in Springer Market Square from 7 to 8 p.m. for Kickin’ It Country, starting June 28.

The BIA noted that local artists will perform toe-tapping tunes, and an hour beforehand, attendees can join in on line dancing and square dancing with expert instructors.

Saturday Sessions will start June 29, and will include performances by musicians from a variety of genres. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., make a stop in Confederation Park as part of your Saturday downtown adventures.

“Grab an ice cream, set down your shopping bags, and let the music take you away,” the BIA suggested.
