15-year-old facing bestiality, child pornography charges

After a video was circulated on social media, which the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have deemed “inappropriate,” a 15-year-old from Amherstview is facing serious charges.
According to the Lennox and Addington OPP, the OPP and Kingston Police commenced an investigation into the video on Wednesday, Jun. 3, 2020 after receiving complaints about the social media activity. Staff Sgt. Chris Watkins of the OPP confirmed that the video in question involved sexual acts being directed at a cat.
As a result of the investigation, the 15-year-old has been charged with:
- Bestiality
- Production of child pornography
- Possession of child pornography
The identity of the accused youth is not being released as it is protected under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
“Police would like to remind the public that the distribution of this type of material, parts of or in whole, on social media, private messaging or email constitutes a criminal offence. There is no further animal welfare concern,” the OPP said in a press release on Thursday, Jun. 4, 2020.
