Poll: Do endorsements influence your voting?

As election day nears, several candidates have started garnering and publicizing endorsements from former politicians, influential people and groups, and even celebrities.

For example, former MPP and Attorney General of Ontario John Gerretsen has endorsed Taylor Pearce as council representative for Meadowbrook-Strathcona District.

Former Kingston City Councillor Ed Smith has endorsed Bryan Paterson for re-election as Mayor.

Former MPP Sophie Kiwala has thrown her support behind Robert Kiley to represent Trillium District, while former MP Ted Hsu has expressed support for Jimmy Hassan, also to represent Trillium District.

The Kingston and District Labour Council has endorsed Rob Matheson for Mayor (as well as a candidate in each district – see below).

And Tragically Hip guitarist Rob Baker, a resident of Sydenham District, has endorsed Dylan Chenier as council representative for that district.

We here at Kingstonist want to know if endorsements influence the way you vote, and if so, how.
