Roadmap to Reopen: Step Three

A message from KFL&A Public Health: As of December 31, testing for COVID-19 has been limited to the most vulnerable individuals and individuals associated with the highest risk settings. This means that confirmed cases will significantly underestimate the true number of people with COVID-19 in the KFL&A region. From this point forward, case rates and percent positivity should not be compared to dates before these testing criteria changes.
On Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, KFL&A Public Health announced that the first case of a new variant of COVID-19 had been detected in the region. A second variant of concern was detected on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021. A third variant of concern in the region was announced on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. A fourth variant of concern case was confirmed in the region on Monday, Mar. 1, 2021, Thursday, Mar. 4, 2021, and a further fifth case was detected on Thursday, Mar. 4, 2021. Public Health Restrictions
At 12:01, Friday, Jul. 16, 2021, the province moved into Step Three of their Roadmap to Reopen. Details, and what that means are available in our previous coverage.
At 12:01, Wednesday, Jun. 30, 2021, the province moved into Step Two of their Roadmap to Reopen. Details, and what that means are available in our previous coverage. We are expected to stay at this step for at least 21 days.
On Friday, Jun. 11, 2021, the province moved into Step One of their Roadmap to Reopen. Details, and what that means are available in our previous coverage. We are expected to stay at this step for at least 21 days.
On Thursday, May 20, 2021, the Ontario government announced its three-step plan to gradually easing COVID-19 restrictions. Reduced restrictions will begin on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Details here.
On Wednesday, Apr 7, 2021, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is declaring a province-wide State of Emergency and imposing a Stay-At-Home Order for at least four weeks. The Stay-At-Home Order takes effect on Thursday, April 8 at 12:01 a.m. On Thursday, May 13, 2021, Ford announced the Stay-At-Home Order would be extended until Wednesday, Jun. 2, 2021.
On Thursday, Apr. 1, 2021, the Ontario government pulled the so-called province-wide “emergency brake”, and intends to keep the plan in place for at least four weeks. This puts the entire province in the Grey-Lockdown level of restrictions, as per the provincial COVID-19 response framework. The change takes effect on Saturday, Apr. 3, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. Details here.
Local Assessment Centres
KINGSTON: The Kingston COVID-19 Assessment Centre is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Beechgrove Complex, south of the intersection of King St. and Portsmouth Ave. As of Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, the Assessment Centre is operating by appointment only. Find all the details on that here, then book an appointment online through the Kingston Health Sciences Centre website. Appointments can also be made by calling 613-548-2376 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There are also four pharmacies in Kingston and Amherstview offering COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic residents.
NAPANEE: The COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Napanee is located at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital West Campus at 12 Richmond Park Drive. Pre-register here or call 613-354-8254 before visiting. This assessment centre is open seven days a week, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
