Guide to Kingston Pride 2012

This Thursday marks the beginning of a full month of celebrations for Kingston’s LGBTQ community.  This is Kingston Pride‘s 23rd anniversary and the Pride Board of Directors has been working hard to create a month full of great ways to celebrate.  Events vary from parties to art shows, live music, the annual boat cruise and the Kingston Pride Parade.  Here is a guide outlining the many events.  All are welcome to participate.

May 31st: Men’s Dinner Club at The Merchant 6pm-8pm  Please RSVP to [email protected]o.ca

June 1st:  Zombie Apocalypse Dance at Fort Henry.  Gates open at 8:30pm, party from 9pm til 2am. Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the Gate.

June 2nd:  Miss Kingston Pride at Time to Laugh. All applications must be dropped off at HARS by 4:30 pm. 

Hollywood Pride at The Screening Room ($6):
June 6th: The Times of Harvey Milk, 7pm
June 8th: Female Trouble, 9:30pm
June 10th: Johnny Guitar, 4pm

June 8th: 4th Annual Out On The Queen 1000 Islands Boat Cruise.  Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the port. Boat departs from the Holiday Inn dock.  8pm-12am, 16+.

June 9th: Girls’ Night Out at Ben’s Pub featuring Jenna Steele & Sue Prosser.  Music begins at 8pm.  Men are welcome.

June 4th-16th: Art show at Window Art Gallery. Gala on June 9th, finale on June 16th.  This is a free exhibit.

June 15th: HARS Pride Bash at Revolutions Night Club.  Doors at 10pm, $5 cover.  19+

June 16th: PFLAG Pride Breakfast at Sydenham Street United Church. 9am-10:30am, $5.

June 16th: Pride Parade 2012 in City Park.  Participants gather at 11:30am, parade leaves at noon.  All are welcome.  Route: north on Barrie, down Princess to Ontario, Brock to Bagot and back to City Park.

June 16th: Pride Family Picnic at City Park.  Following the parade, bring friends and family to the park for a picnic and celebration.  Live music, information booths and refreshments.

June 16th: Pride Dance at The Grad Club.  9pm, $5 at the door.

June 17th: Pride Worship Service at Sydenham Street United Church.  10:30am-11:30am.

June 24th: Singing Songs of Courage at Kingston Unitarian Fellowship.  Members of all faith traditions in the Kingston area will gather to unite and celebrate spiritual stories. This is a very special way to mark the end of Kingston Pride: with fellowship, with unity and with love for all people.  10:30am.
