Guide to U-Pick Apples and Pumpkins Near Kingston

This goes for pumpkins too. At this time of year, bundling up in a cozy sweater and making a short trip to a local farm is a fun and locally supportive way to enjoy the fruits that fall has to offer. Today’s guide features U-Pick apples and pumpkins farms near Kingston (less than an hour away), where you can take your family for a fun-filled day of harvesting, going on hay rides, and enjoying delicious homemade baked goods, ciders and juices. Because this activity is fully reliant on weather and seasonal supply, it’s always a good idea to call or check the farm’s website first.

A Good Farm (2017 Centreville Rd, Centreville): This organic farm offers u-pick apples on weekends from 9am-5pm until the end of October. Call if you would like to pick on a weekday and bring your own bags.

Bateau Channel Orchard, (292 Spithead Road, Howe Island): It’s a 7 minute ferry ride over to Howe Island to enjoy picking apples northwest shore of the Bateau Channel. Picking goes until mid-November from 4pm-dusk on weekdays and 9am-dusk on weekends.

Fruition Berry Farm (3208 Hughes Road): Pick your own pumpkins every Saturday from 10am-4pm until the end of October. They open and close based on weather conditions so be sure to call ahead or check their website to make sure they are open. No apples for picking this year but stop in to pick up some of their cider!

Glocca Morra Farms (1623 Hwy 15): Take a wagon ride into the patch and pick your own pumpkins. There is also a wide variety of already picked pumpkins and squash as well as preserves and fresh daily baking. Open 10am-6pm seven days a week.

Hall’s Apple Market (2930 2nd Concession Road, Brockville): Enjoy a large variety of apples from August until their all gone in October. While you’re there, grab some of their cider, apple butter, cider vinegar, apple crumble, apple pie and more.

Loughborough Heritage Orchard (3371B Lakeside Road, Inverary): A wide variety of apples is available until the end of October from 10m-5pm everyday at this heritage farm. Also enjoy their maple syrup, fresh veggies and free range eggs.

Waddell Apples (1345 Washburn Road): Pick your own apples and pumpkins at this orchard located near the Lower Brewers Locks on the historic Rideau Canal. Open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm.

Wynn Farms (8191 Hwy 33, Greater Napanee): Pick from a wide variety of apples until the end of October. Check their Facebook page for updates on ripening times, availability and ideas for enjoying your harvest.
