We created our first Guide to Breakfast back in 2010 and then gave it a long overdue update in 2014.  It still remains one of our most popular posts today. With a lot of changes and new businesses popping up, we figured it was time for another update. So here you go, Kingston: Kingstonist’s 2015 Guide to Breakfast.

Hotels:
Aqua Terra – The Delta (1 Johnson St.): Breakfast served daily from 6:30am to 11am.
Bistro Stefan – Best Western Fireside Inn (1217 Princess St.): Breakfast served daily.
Dox – The Holiday Inn (2 Princess St.): Breakfast served daily.
JM’s – The Ambassador (1550 Princess St.): Breakfast served daily, weekend brunch buffet.
King Street Sizzle – Four Points Sheraton (285 King St. E): Breaky 6:30am-11am weekdays, 7am-12pm weekends.
The Cavalier Room – Travelodge (2360 Princess St.): Breakfast available daily 6am-4pm.
The General Wolfe Hotel (1237 Hwy 96, Marysville): Breakfast served until 11:30am.
WJ’s – Confederation Place Hotel (237 Ontario St.): All Day breakfast starting at 7am.

Bars:
Sir John’s Public House (343 King St.): Sunday brunch from 10:30am-3pm.
The Brass (403 Princess St.): Weekday breakfast from 11am-3pm and weekend brunch from 10am-3pm.
The Iron Duke (207 Wellington St.): Sunday Brunch 11:30am-3pm.
The Kingston Brewing Company (34 Clarence St.): Breakfast on Sundays til about 2:30pm.
The Mansion (506 Princess St.): $5 breakfast on weekends starting at 10am.
The Loyal Oarsman (724 Bath Rd.): Straight forward British breakfast, served Sundays 11am-1pm.
The Toucan (76 Princess St.): Saturday 11-2 for $4.99 and Sunday 11-3 for $4.25 with beverage purchase.
Tir nan og (200 Ontario St.): Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Greasy Spoons:
Carmelinda’s (2799 Princess St.): Standard family restaurant likely to serve breakfast all day.
Denny’s (33 Benson St.; 670 Gardiners Rd. – RioCan): Wide variety of breakfast options 24/7.
Golden Rooster (111 Princess St.): This deli is a fave of many. Breakfast served Mon-Sat.
Homestyle Deli (629 Fortune Cres.): Breakfast served daily from 6am-11am.
Jiffy Grill (97 Bath Road – Kingston Centre; 2395 Princess St.): Breakfast all day. Fast service, generous portions.
Keith’s Deli (645 Gardiners Rd.): Open at 6:30am and a menu that boasts breakfast but no other details on their site.
Morrison’s (318 King St. E.): A Kingston institution but sort of overrated. Breaky served all day.
Peter’s Place (34 Princess St.): All day breakfast – fast, cheap and delicious.
Star Diner (849 Princess St.): A Kingston favourite. Standard diner fare.
Wishbone Deli Restaurant (1407 John Counter Blvd.): Breakfast served daily from 7:30am-10:30am.

Other restaurants:
Aunt Lucy’s (1399 Princess St.): Sunday brunch buffet starting at 10am.
Café Le Matin (137 Princess St.): Served all day, fast and cheap!
Chez Piggy (68 Princess St.): Weekend brunch. Great if you want to try something a little different.
Chien Noir (69 Brock St.): 11:30-2:30 brunch on the weekends.
Dianne’s Fish Bar (195 Ontario St.): Weekend brunch 11:30am-3pm. Inventive local menu, fun drink specials.
Driftwood Restaurant (1753 Hwy 2): Seasonal hours linked with the marina. Weekend brunch with a lake view.
Eggsquis (2774 Princess St.): Extensive menu including eggs, waffles, crêpes, French toast and more. 7am-3pm.
Fardella’s Bakery and Internet Cafe (2792 Princess St.): A hidden gem in the west end. All day breakfast.
Geneva Crepe Cafe (297 Princess St.): Breakfast crêpes and waffles served daily from 9am til close.
Grizzly Grill (395 Princess St.): Brunch on the weekends from 10am to 2pm.
Megalos (226 Princess St.): Weekend brunch 9am-3pm. I recommend the Avocado and Eggs.
Milestones (27 Princess St.): Weekend brunch served from 10am-4pm.
Pan Chancho (44 Princess St.): All Day brunch on the weekends, breakfast during the week with a different menu.
Ramekins (1540 Bath Rd.): Friday, Saturday and Sunday breakfast.
Smitty’s (2376 Princess St.): A personal fave. Famous for their pancakes and skillets.
Spin (260 Princess St.): Served until 2pm and specializing in crêpes and waffles.
The Sleepless Goat (91 Princess St.): Weekdays 7am-11am and weekends 8am-1pm.
Tommy’s (377 Princess St.): Inventive all day breakfast. Go hungry.
Windmills (184 Princess St.): Breakfast 7:30am-11:30am daily and brunch 8am-3pm on weekends and holidays.
Wolfe Island Bakery (311 Queen St.): All day breakfast.
Wolfe Island Grill (1222 Hwy 96, Marysville) Locally sourced brunch 10am-3pm weekends and holidays.

  • You missed The Mansion – $5 breakfast on Saturday & Sunday, opens at 10am, and you get two eggs (any style), toast, hashbrowns, toasted baguette and bacon! The best price for the most amount of food and they open earlier than other pub breakfasts!
