Kingston Police have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man in relation to a series of violent domestic incidents, some of which involved a firearm and sexual assault.

The Kingston Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit began investigating the accused man on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018. The investigation found that the first incident between the accused and the victim occurred during the weekend of September 7 to 9, 2018 when, the victim reported, the accused man locked her in the basement overnight. The following morning during an argument, the accused man threw the victim to the floor in the bathroom. When the victim began crying from the pain, the accused man choked her until she lost consciousness, according to a press release from Kingston Police.

When the victim regained consciousness and said she wanted to call her father, the accused threw her seven-week-old puppy against a wall before hitting the victim in the head with a bong and pulling her by her hair.

According to police, the victim attempted to distance herself from the accused man following the weekend of violence. However, a couple of weeks later, the man texted the victim and demanded that she leave school, threatening he could come in and get her if she didn’t leave on her own. When the victim left the school, the accused man assaulted her again.

The violent attacks continued in November, when the accused man showed up while the victim was walking home along a trail. The man became angry with the victim and attacked her, biting her in the neck and hand before he sexually assaulted her.

A month later, the accused man assaulted the victim again, this time choking her, as well as smashing her cellphone, and, on one date in December, he pointed a firearm at her before pointing it away and pulling the trigger.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Kingston Police obtained and executed a search warrant at the accused man’s downtown residence. The man was located inside the residence and arrested without incident. During a search of the residence police located and seized a bullet, a spent blank, brass knuckles, and a pellet gun.

The Kingston man is now facing the following charges:

  • Storing a firearm in a careless manner
  • Pointing a firearm
