Seeley’s Bay’s own writer and raconteur James Raffan has been continuing his travels and returns to the Seeley’s Bay Community Hall with Storyfest #13:
“Druids, Drams, Dangers and Doctors—Tales from an eventful sea journey from Aberdeen to Iceland” . Chasing his own Celtic and Nordic roots through the Scottish outer isles and eventually west through the Faroe Islands and back to Iceland (which has featured in a number of previous Storyfest shows), working as a resource person, speaker, Zodiac wrangler and musician for Adventure Canada, this time he encountered things he never expected, including transcendental whisky and possible glimpses into the Meaning of Life.
With his trademarked blend of humour, superb sounds and images, and stories of far-flung places, this is an afternoon of fun, entertainment and education for young and old alike. Buying a Storyfest ticket or two is also an excellent opportunity to support the community betterment projects of the Seeley’s Bay and Area Residents Association. It’s all happening at the Seeley’s Bay Community Hall on Main Street above the firehall (fully accessible) Sunday, February 10th, 2019, with a 2 pm start. $20 at the door, or buy online at Facebook Page “Support Seeleys Bay Ontario.
There will be an intermission with refreshments, draws, a chance to learn about deals on Adventure Canada trips, and a special musical contribution to end the show by James and members of the Firehall Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus .
And we'd love to bring you more.
