November 29, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

What: Continuing Call to Action as the Climate Crisis Intensifies
Where: Springer Market Square, Kingston City Hall
When: Noon to 2:00 pm on Friday November 29, 2019
Theme: People Most Vulnerable to Climate Change
Who: Fridays for Future (F4F), 350 Kingston and partnering organizations. Speakers and live music.
Free hot drinks available to all.

This Friday the Kingston branch of the global student organization Fridays-for-Future (F4F) will join with people around the world to demand immediate action to stop climate change.

“The science is clear. The earth is warming due to human activities. We know what needs to be done, but carbon emissions keep rising.” said KCVI student and F4F organizer Aidan Tomkinson. “The consequences of continuing the status quo will be devastating for everyone, but particularly those who are most the vulnerable: the poor in Canada and around the world, people who have precarious employment, as well as indigenous communities here and in the Arctic.”

We need to draw attention to this crisis and continue the momentum gained from the September 20th March for Change. Therefore, Fridays-for-Future and their partner organizations will hold another Strike for Climate on November 29th. This strike welcomes and encourages everyone who shares concerns for the Earth’s welfare.

350 Kingston organizer Robert MacInnes is encouraging grandparents like himself to join in: “The Global Climate Strike this Friday is a great opportunity for you to bond with your grandchildren as it is a PA day in Kingston. Bring them down to market square and enjoy an educational outing with them.”
