In an all too common occurrence where a bike was stolen near Kingston General Hospital, police were able to catch the thief.
On Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, a woman locked her bike at a designated bike rack on Stuart Street at approximately 2:45 p.m. The woman went to work an eight-hour shift and when she came back to retrieve her bike after her shift, the bike was gone.
The woman contacted police and Kingston Police detectives were able to obtain video surveillance footage and subsequently identify the thief.
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the accused man was arrested at a Bagot Street address. The 37-year-old local man was charged with theft and breach of his release conditions.
