Video: Pride 2012
Throughout the month of June, Kingston celebrated Gay Pride with a series of events held almost everyday in various venues including a Zombie Apocalypse Dance at Fort Henry, a cruise with 1000 Islands Cruises, film screenings at The Screening Room, picnics, concerts, talent shows and of course the Pride Parade.
Each event was extremely well attended, (the parade being the largest one yet!) and videographer Kurtis Chen was there to capture it all. His beautiful video showcases not only the events themselves but includes excellent, informative interviews with organizers and participants, including folks from PFLAG, ReelOut and Sydenham Street United Church. We, as Kingstonians should be very proud of the growth of pride and the support shown from our residents and government officials. Have a look and have a great weekend everyone!
The video above shows a much more positive presentation than some of the other parades that allow nudity and other questionable behavior in public. Thumbs up to this video.
