At the movies in Kingston: November 1 edition

Welcome back to ‘At the movies in Kingston.’ He said he would be back, and Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen this weekend in his most iconic role. Will it be number 1 at the box office?
Here is what’s new at the Kingston theatres for the week starting Friday, Nov. 1, 2019.
Landmark Cinemas
Terminator: Dark Fate brings Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger back to the screens in their roles as Sarah Connor and the Terminator. This fifth film in the series plans to ignore every film after 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Terminator: Dark Fate is meant to be considered a sequel to the 1991 blockbuster.
Harriet tells the true-life tale of Harriet Tubman and her escape from slavery during the 19th Century. The film also details her rise to prominence and how she inspired and aided the abolition movement prior to the civil war.
Motherless Brooklyn is set in the 1950s and follows a private investigator who searches for the murderer of his mentor.
Parasite is the story of an unemployed family that takes an interest in a well-known wealthy family. Things go awry, drawing both families into a web of intrigue. The film is presented in Korean with English subtitles.

Arctic Dogs is about Swifty the Arctic Fox and his plans to move out of the mailroom of the Arctic Blast Delivery Service.
Saturday’s family favourite’s is the 10:00 a.m. showing of The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Saturday also has a 10:45 a.m. showing of DanTDM Presents: The Contest. YouTuber Dan TDM brings his act to the local theatres.
Saturday the Metropolitan Opera returns with a 12:55 p.m. showing of Turandot.
On Sunday at 4:00 p.m., comedian Billy Connolly brings his new show Billy Connolly: The Sex Life of Bandages to the big screen.
Terminator: Dark Fate also starts this weekend at Cineplex.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be the number one movie at the cinemas this weekend. For years fans have been given substandard follow-ups to the blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The film is getting positive reviews, and reunites the original creators with the two stars of the original film.
