The Skeleton Park Community Songbook: Jenny Whiteley & Joey Wright
The Skeleton Park Community Songbook is a project that’s being led by organizers of the Skeleton Park Music Festival, in collaboration with 12 different groups of local musicians, and various community organizations. Live recordings of all of the performances will be combined onto a compilation DVD, while the associate sheet music is also being made available. The ultimate goal of the Community Songbook is to stimulate Kingstonians to share and learn more about the local music scene.
Regular readers are likely aware that I’ve been a huge fan and supporter of this initiative since learning about it last Spring. Thus far Kingstonist has gone on to feature Songbook contributions, in no particular order, by David Francey & Open Voices, as well as The Swamp Ward Orchestra and Rideau Public School. Today, I’m please to share yet another page from the songbook, with Jenny Whiteley, Joey Wright as well as Lovin’ Spoonful and the Sunnyside Community Garden performing Hallelujah Haircut. Hit play below, enjoy, and stay tuned for more!
