Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir among skaters returning to Leon’s Centre
Some of the biggest names in Canadian figure skating are returning to the Leon’s Centre this fall. Olympic medalists Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Kaetlyn Osmond, and Elvis Stojko will be joined by Italian champion skaters Anna Cappellini, Luca Lanotte, and Carolina Kostner, along with Jeremy Abbott, the four-time U.S. National Champion and Olympic medalist.
Rock the Rink combines “the highest level of on-ice superstar talent,” according to a media release from the Leon’s Centre. The show will feature video, interactive technology, and, for the first time, live music from Toronto’s Birds of Bellwoods.
“The goal for Rock The Rink is to be something that fans of skating and live entertainment will look forward to year after year, knowing that it will always be a can’t miss night,” said Moir in the media release.
“We want to give people a memorable experience and broaden the scope of what can be done in the show skating realm,” said Virtue. “We are ready for fresh and innovative ways to share our passion with audiences across the country!”
Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. via www.ticketmaster.ca, and the Leon’s Centre box office on Monday, May 6 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices were not available at the time of publication.
The cross-country tour launches Saturday, October 5 in Abbotsford, BC and will hit over 30 cities before wrapping in St. John’s, NL. Rock the Rink will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at the Leon’s Centre.
