#ygkChallenge: Share Your Kingston Bucket List
Welcome to Kingstonist’s weekly challenge, dare, resolution or whatever you prefer to call it. Each week we establish a new and ambitious community goal, encouraging our readers, followers, friends and families to step out of their comfort zones and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. Consider this your official and personal invitation to join us in completing a small but meaningful achievement. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston a slightly better place to live, work and play. And of course, we also hope that you will feel proud of your contribution and achievement.
This week’s challenge encourages you to:
Share your bucket list for enjoying Summer in Kingston. With the last day of school, the first day of Summer, tourist season and re-opening of Princess Street fast approaching, many of us are eagerly looking forward to making the most of what Kingston has to offer during the coming months. When you take a step back and view the seasonal events, activities and must-dos, one can easily get overwhelmed with all the options. My jam packed dance card for the summer blends faves that have a special place in my heart, as well a few new things that have caught my gaze. From patio hopping, to movies at the drive-in and in the Square, the Princess Street Promenade, frozen treats of all kinds, the new Sunset Ceremony at Fort Henry, swimming at Richardson Beach, improving my rib recipe, the Skeleton Park Arts Festival, spending time with new and old friends, Kingston by Fork tours, chasing mobile gourmet food trucks, and the list goes on… Of course, my bucket list barely scratches the surface of all the local attractions and guilty pleasures we can enjoy. With that in mind, what’s on your Kingston-centric bucket list this Summer?
Sign up and commit to completing this week’s challenge by commenting below with an “I’m in“, “challenge accepted“, “en garde” or something along those lines. Further, help us spread the word via Twitter and Facebook by using the hashtag: #ygkchallenge. As you work towards completing this week’s task, please feel free to lend others a helping hand by providing tips on how you achieved success.
Thanks to Andy for today’s photo of a curious explorer diving right into his bucket list.
