Kingston Gymnastics Club brings home two team golds, over 70 medals

 

Athletes from the Kingston Gymnastics Club on Midland Avenue competed on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 in Smiths Falls, Ontario for the 13th annual Come Shine With Us Invitational/Qualifier competition. The athletes brought home fantastic results! Two gold team awards were earned and over 70 medals were awarded between the 25 athletes. Additionally, many athletes left with special judges awards for their individual performances.

Top placings included 1st place gold finishes all around for the following athletes: Analyse Chabot (Level 3), Michaela Libbey-Griffin (Level 3), Rhya Pereria (Level 4), Taylor Reed (Level 4), Rebekah D’Sousa (Level 5), Gracie McDonell (Level 6).

Athletes placing 2nd all around, earning silver, include: Olivia Liew (Level 2), Kaitlyn Egerton (Level 3), Lena Staszak (Level 6). Athletes placing 3rd all around, earning bronze, include: Emilie Wartman (Level 2), Teagan Bylsma (Level 2), Mara Burtch-Clapp (Level 2), Jillian Bates (Level 4), Gala Baranchuk (Level 4).

Additional gold medals were awarded for individual events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor) to the following athletes: Analyse Chabot, Eva Reid, Gala Baranchuk, Gracie McDonell, Jillian Bates, Katilyn Egerton, Lena Staszak, Madeleine Anderson, Madison Broome, Mara Burtch-Clapp, Michaela Libbey-Griffin, Natasha Ishmael, Rebekah D’Souza, Rhya Pereria, Sofie Staszak, Taylor Reed.
