#ygkChallenge: Commuter Challenge
The #ygkchallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkchallenge encourages you to:
Take the Commuter Challenge. On June 4th many Kingstonians embarked on the latest Commuter Challenge by “ditching the car” for one week and committing to using sustainable forms of transportation. With a few days left in the challenge, there’s still time to get in on the action by registering your participation. Every step, push and pedal counted towards our collective total, which is important to the overall friendly competition Kingston has going with other Canadian cities. Whether you choose to walk, cycle, carpool, unicycle, skip, run, skateboard, or take public transport, leave the car at home and help Kingston defend its title. Participants can register themselves or even their entire workplace to take part and then visit the Commuter Challenge website to track their progress.
Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
