#ygkChallenge: Share your #Summerbookitlist

ygkchallenge, Kingston Frontenac Public Library, summer book list, Kingston, OntarioThe #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.

This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:

Tell us about your #Summerbookitlist. While many of us would love to spend more time with our nose in a book, the reality is that, if you’re anything like me, the only time you really have to enjoy a lot of reading is during the summer months.  KFPL offers lots of ways to keep families reading throughout the summer months such as the Summer Reading Club for kids and Books and Beans for adults.  Whether you choose to join a club or just work your way through a pile of paperbacks over the next couple of months, we want you to share your Summer Book List with us!  This week we challenge you to tell us what you’re reading right now, what you just finished reading and what you plan to dive into next.  What book has blown you away? Which one had you falling over laughing and which one left you in tears?  Let’s share our faves and see if we can create an awesome #Summerbookitlist.  Bonus points for ygk authors!

Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.

Thanks to Emily Carlin for today’s photo.

I just finished Wild by Cheryl Strayed. A great read about overcoming loss, being courageous and taking chances. A great adventure! Can't wait to check out the film.
