#ygkChallenge: Princess Street Promenade

Welcome to Kingstonist’s weekly challenge, dare, resolution or whatever you prefer to call it. Each week we establish a new and ambitious community goal, encouraging our readers, followers, friends and families to step out of their comfort zones and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. Consider this your official and personal invitation to join us in completing a small but meaningful achievement. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston a slightly better place to live, work and play. And of course, we also hope that you will feel proud of your contribution and achievement.

This week’s challenge encourages you to:

Take a stroll on the Princess Street Promenade. The third anual Princess Street Promenade will take over downtown Kingston from 10am-6pm this Saturday.  For one day and one only, downtown Kingston’s main thoroughfare will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly space.  With special offerings from local merchants and restaurants, live music, artistic demonstrations, sporting activities and so much more, the Promenade has something for everyone.  Whether you come out for the novelty of being able to walk in the middle of the street or simply want to see what all the fuss is about, you’ll undoubtedly see why the Promenade is included as one of our top five events of this Summer!
