prince, edward, county, quinte, isle, tourist, brochureAs the weather finally breaks, leaving the house seems possible again, perhaps even enjoyable. The photo and map seen above are from a tourist brochure for Quinte’s Isle, what we now refer to as “The County”, from the early 1950s. The main vacation highlights of Prince Edward County promoted in the brochures were fishing and swimming, coupled always with affordability and proximity. While the reasons for visiting The County may have changed, food and wine coming to mind as the more modern tourist attractions, the proximity and affordability still apply. Venture forth, ride a ferry, it is always a fun day trip to the County!
