#ygkChallenge: Photo Call

ygk challenge, photo contest, KingstonThe #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.

This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:

Show us your best Kingston pics. It’s that time of year once again, ygk photographers! Kingstonist’s Greatest Photo Contest is back. Twice a year we challenge local shutterbugs to upload their best shots of the Limestone City to our Flickr group. It doesn’t matter if the pictures were taken 10 days ago or 10 years ago, as long as they’re totally local and honestly yours, we want to see them! Participants can upload as many pictures as they want until midnight on Thursday, December 3rd. After that, our jury will comb through all entries received since our last Greatest Photo Contest to reveal a small group of favourites. This is where the fun begins when we turn to you, our readers, to help us decide on the final winner. Voting will take place from Monday, December 7th until Tuesday, December 15th. The winner will have the choice of a gift certificate from Kingston Frameworks or Camera Kingston, not to mention bragging rights! Start snapping, Kingston!

Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.

Thanks to Hernán Piñera for today’s photo.
