Paul Coffey Talks The Tragically Hip During Rogers Hometown Hockey

Rogers Hometown Hockey made it’s second stop in recent years to Kingston this past Saturday and Sunday.  The two-day hockey festival included a live broadcast with hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone, as well appearances by Don Cherry, and former NHL superstars: Paul Coffey, Brad May, Bernie Nicholls, Dave Reid, Wayne Primeau, and Al Iafrate. With numerous local hallmarks on display throughout the event such as the Royal Military College’s Brass and Reed Band and various minor hockey teams, perhaps it should come as no surprise that The Tragically Hip were also on the hearts and minds of those on in front of the camera.

Members of the Downie Family joined Ron and Tara during the live broadcast to discuss their ongoing efforts to continue Gord’s legacy and his important work.  Paul Coffey also took some time to highlight his connection to the band as both a fan, and as a friend.  Hit play to hear what The Tragically Hip meant to him.
