Get out of the city for a Saturday night and enjoy an evening of food, folk, rock, and roots music under the stars at the Barn.
Midsummer Music at the Barn is a one night, 19+, licensed event happening at Furnace Falls Farm, located in Lyndhurst, Ontario — just a short drive north-east of Gananoque on July 16, 2022.
Let your mouth enjoy a variety of local eats while your ears enjoy the sounds of celebrated Canadian indie rockers The Stephen Stanley Band, Kingston psych-roots ensemble JukeBox County, and emerging folk-rock songstress, Piner.
The Stephen Stanley Band is a four piece rock outfit fronted by a familiar voice, Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Stephen Stanley who may be best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist of alt rockers, The Lowest of the Low. The band has toured Europe and are currently finishing up the follow-up record to Jimmy & the Moon, slated for release in fall 2022.
JukeBox County is relatively new on the scene with their debut album released in May 2021 through Wolfe Island Records. The driving force behind the band, Rich Tyo, says he gets inspiration for his songs from his work on the streets as a mental health crisis worker. Drawing on musical influences from Neil Young to Nick Drake, The Grateful Dead, Velvet Underground, and The Beatles… you can expect to hear deep lyrics about the human experience combined with music that Tyo hopes will inspire hope, connection, introspection, and joy.
And lastly, opening the night is Piner, a young artist with an old soul who grew up in the Skeleton Park area here in Kingston. Growing up, Piner says she was surrounded by musicians, who encouraged her to write and sing from a young age. Piner writes songs that let her empathy and understanding take the lead as she steps into the stories of others. She hopes her songs will allow listeners to connect with the complexities of the greater human experience.
