Kingston Symphony Volunteers Vinyl Records Sale offers music, movies, and more

Music lovers rejoice! The fall edition of the Kingston Symphony Volunteers Vinyl Records Sale returns this week. From Thursday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, the semi-annual Kingston tradition is an opportunity for music aficionados to gather at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse, 785 Sir John A Macdonald Boulevard, Unit 7A and discover some hidden gems.
According to a release from the Symphony, over the past several weeks Kingston Symphony Volunteers have been busy sorting the thousands of LPs, CDs, and DVDs that they have received at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse.
The Symphony said they have everything from pop rock to blues, classical to jazz, folk to country, to satisfy everyone’s musical taste. The Vinyl Records Sale is a chance to get great deals on classic LPs and audio equipment like receivers, speakers, and turntables.
“My favourite part of the sale isn’t the money we raise, although that’s extremely important, but the fact that someone’s cherished record collection is going to provide someone else with fantastic music,” said David Notman, Vinyl Records Sale volunteer.
“The collection of everything we have this year is very good with over 6,000 vinyl records, 12,000 CDs, 1,600 DVDs/Blu-ray and a bunch of turntables, amps, speakers, CD and DVD players. We had to make more space for the CDs, DVDs, and stereo equipment that has been donated.”
According to the release, all sales support the Kingston Symphony and help to ensure a thriving music culture in our community.
Andrea Haughton, Kingston Symphony General Manager, shared that she and the entire Symphony are appreciative of the hard work that goes into preparing a sale of this magnitude: “For the volunteers who have been spending hours of their time at the warehouse to get this sale set up, it feels like they are working in a giant jukebox. Not only are they raising funds to support the Kingston Symphony, but they are having a lot of fun doing it! Our concerts and education programs depend on the support of our volunteers. We couldn’t do what we do without them!”
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, the sale will take place at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse, located at 785 Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard, Unit 7A. On opening right, vinyl records will be priced at $8 each, CDs at $2 each (buy 10 or more, $1 each), and DVDs and Blu-rays at $2 each (buy 10 or more, $1 each; series and box sets individually priced), with audio equipment and other collectables priced individually.
