The Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL) is inviting everyone to an “unforgettable day of musical magic” with Nancy Kopman at the Calvin Park branch.
According to a release from the library, families are in for a treat as Kopman brings her interactive music and movement program to life on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 2:40 p.m. KFPL said it promises a “fantastic experience” for children of all ages.
No stranger to families and educators worldwide, Kopman’s songs and videos have been streamed and viewed by millions. According to the release, she is the musical genius behind the opening theme for TVOKids’ Canada Crew, making learning the provinces and territories as easy as singing a catchy tune.
Now, she’s here in Kingston to bring that same energy and excitement to the library.
“It’s not just about fun; it’s about learning, too,” said Brianne Peters, Children’s Services Librarian with KFPL. “Research shows music promotes language, listening, memory and motor skills. Songs introduce new words, often ones that rhyme or repeat, which makes them easy to learn.”
KFPL said that this event is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.
