Movies in the Square 2013

Movies in the Square, Downtown Kingston, Kingston, OntarioSpringer Market Square will once again be transformed into an outdoor movie theatre on most Thursday nights this summer.  After a month of online voting, Kingstonians have played a part in the selection of this year’s line up.  A selection of classic family friendly movies will be projected on the inflatable screen parallel to Market Street in the Square beginning at dusk (9pm for June and July and closer to 8:30pm in August).

As always, movie-goers are encouraged to arrive early and bring a lawn chair, and anything else you may need to create the optimal movie-going experience such as a blanket, some snacks or bug spray. Popcorn, lemonade and other treats will be also be available for sale.  One of my favourite things to do on a hot Thursday evening is to grab myself a cold treat from Mio Gelato or White Mountain before the movie starts.  “Seat positioning” is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please make sure you consider those around you and bring low back lawn chairs if possible so everyone can get a good view.  In the event of a rain-out, rain dates will be announced through local media.  Take a look below for this summer’s line up and start planning for another great summer in Kingston.

Chuckled at the online poster for Movies in the Square, which lists Harry Potter as "Sorcerer's Stone". American title of the book from what I can gather, but not the movie.
