Megan Hamilton and Friends: I Always Wanted to Visit Seattle
I first met Megan Hamilton through social media back in the spring of 2010 when we featured her in an interview upon the completion of her From Here to Vancouver Tour. After the release of three full length albums met with glowing reviews, Megan and her now husband, Ben McLean, decided to make the move from Toronto to Kingston. Since that time, Megan has recorded and released a 3 song EP entitled Snow Moon. The EP, recorded mostly at North of Princess Studios, was produced by Jim Bryson and features local musicians, violinist Danielle Lennon (Calamity Janes, Kingston Symphony) and bassist Alison Gowan, (Swamp Ward Orchestra) as well as long time friend and drummer, Andrew Bartle.
The EP has been met with great acclaim with airplay on CBC, inclusion in the CBC Song of the Summer contest and performances at various Ontario music festivals. A full length album is in the works for later this year.
Today, Megan is releasing a video of one song from the EP, I Always Wanted to Visit Seattle. She used her strong presence on social media to create this video, made up entirely of crowd sourced footage. You can find Megan’s full albums here and see another video, I Paid My Way In Pennies, filmed at The Grad Club by local filmmaker, Josh Lyon, here.
Enjoy!
She is……simply……the BEST!
Break a leg, m'dear.
