Lake Effect: Making Art in Kingston

Lake Effect is a twenty minute documentary featuring four artists: Lisa Figge, Shayne Dark, Don Maynard, Maureen Sheridan, all of whom live and work in or around Kingston, Ontario. The film explores how each of the respective artists came to call Kingston home, their respective artistic processes and the value they place on the local community in terms of support and inspiration.

Produced by the Gallery Association of the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, more specifically Shawn Bulter and Julia McArthur, with the help of viegographer and editor Sarah Robert, and assistant editor, Josh Lyon, Lake Effect offers sober and unfiltered insight into the life of artists making a living in the Limestone City. Just in case you want to track down the music interspersed throughout the short, the feature tunes are by The Gertrudes and Alexander McArthur.  Enjoy!
