Two weeks ago we announced our twelfth Greatest Photo Contest, which challenged local photographers to submit their best pictures of Kingston to our awesome Flickr group. There are so many beautiful photos in our group and this past weekend, we once again took on the difficult task of narrowing down the submissions to eight finalists. Now it’s up to you, our readers, to help us choose the best photo. As always, Kingstonist appreciates the efforts of all those who’ve joined and continue to upload photos to our Flickr group. We use the group regularly as a source for photos, so even if your submission wasn’t selected or doesn’t win the top prize, there’s a good chance we’ll find a way to prominently feature it with due credit at some point.
The scaled photos from the finalists are all linked to the originals on Flickr. We highly recommend you click through in order to see them all in high resolution. In no particular order, the finalists are:
Library by Christopher Howitt (left). Untitled by Ryan Warner (right).
Confederation Basin in HDR by Dark Arts Astrophotography (left). Kingston Mills by Troy Johnson (right).
Steamy Cold by Sean Hickman (left). Kingston Waterfront by Sadaf Rahman (right).
[email protected] by Donna Brown (left). Lake Ontario, January 2015 by Iris Russak (right).
My pick for Kingstonist's Greatest Photo is:
- Dark Arts Astrophotography (29%, 268 Votes)
- Donna Brown (27%, 247 Votes)
- Sean Hickman (21%, 193 Votes)
- Ryan Warner (10%, 94 Votes)
- Troy Johnson (4%, 38 Votes)
- Iris Russak (4%, 33 Votes)
