#ygkChallenge: Give Your Summer A Kick & Push
The #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:
Give your Summer some Kick & Push! With the success of last summer’s inaugural Kick & Push, we’re beyond excited about the return of this month-long live theatre extravaganza. Each of the six main productions that comprise this festival take the audience beyond being passive observers. Theatre-goers will find themselves onstage, backstage, as well as in back alleys and various downtown storefronts, where the action unfolds all around them. Needless to say, these aren’t your average live shows, as each production strives to tell old stories in new ways, or new stories in old places, highlighting cultural and historical awesomeness along the way. It’s no wonder that Kick & Push is one of our top five things to see and do in Kingston this month, and beyond.
Want to experience the magic that is Kick & Push? Just in case you need a little bit of help getting there, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to each of the following productions: Chicago (29 July @ 8pm), Ambrose (1 August @ 7pm), and Taming of the Shrew (3 August @7:30pm). Comment below, retweet this tweet and share this Facebook post to enter the contest. Do all three and better your odds! Winners will be announce on 27 July. See you there!
Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
Thanks to mararie for today’s photo.
