Guide to the 2012 Wolfe Island Music Festival
Glancing over at the quiet behemoths dancing in the wind, the average person would never suspect that big things are about to go down on Wolfe Island. This weekend marks the annual Wolfe Island Music Festival, which will attract an energetic mix of loyal Kingstonians, out-of-town spectators as well as talented performers. The festival has increasingly earned a positive reputation, offering an affordable and accessible means to enjoy top Canadian bands, local musical heroes, and various historic haunts of Wolfe Island. The magic associated with one of this city’s best Summer attractions starts as soon as the ferry departs downtown Kingston, while the memories of impromptu jams on the return trip are equally as everlasting. What goes down during the two day festival on and off of the Island involves new and old friends, familiar and inspiring music, and many cornerstones of Summer. Enjoy!
Friday Aug 10th
On the first night of the Wolfe Island Music Festival, organizers have laid on simultaneous shows in four venues. The big problem for most of us is deciding which venue and performers to check out. Of course, if you’re underage, that decision is somewhat already made.

It seems a good time was had by all. Just a shame that the police decided that this would be a good weekend to crack down on minor traffic infractions by islanders because they had pretty much nothing to do at the festival…
