Guide to The 2009 Skeleton Park Music Festival

Skeleton Park Music FestivalThe Skeleton Park Music Festival officially kicks off this evening, with a few nights of entertainment prior to the main event this Saturday in McBurney (aka Skeleton) Park. While my attention is primarily focused on this Saturday’s outdoor festival, I thought it would be beneficial to produce a helpful festival guide, linking maps to the venues, as well as the musicians you can expect to see.  So get ready to go barefoot in the park, and celebrate the summer solstice at the one and only Skeleton Park Music Fest!

Wednesday, June 17th @ The Grad Club (162 Barrie St – map) from 8pm to 12am

Opening Night of the festival at The Grad Club, which is a fully licensed establishment, featuring:
8pm – Sugar Plum featuring Emily Fennell (Roots, Alternative, Country)
9pm – Nich Worby (Indie, Folk, Rock)
10pm – PS I Love You (2 step, Bossa Nova, Breakbeat)
11pm – Orange Alabaster Mushroom (Psychedelic / Garage / Rock)

Thursday, June 18th @ Chalmers United Church (212 Barrie St – map) from 7pm to 10pm

Due to the location, I’m presuming this is a dry event. Apple Crisp presents:
7pm – Jon McLurg (Folk, Rock)
8pm – The Gertrudes (Ambient, Folk, Thrash)
9pm – David Francey with Craig Werth (Acoustic, Indie, Folk)

Friday, June 19th @ Upper Canada Academy of the Performing Arts (260 Brock St – map) at 7:30pm  and 10:30pm
CFRC Radio are live recording Into the Magic Sound Box featuring storytelling accompanied by:  False Face, rebuilder, Hawkward (Indie, Ambient, Hyphy), and TimKnightUs. Again, due to location, I’m presuming this is a dry event as well.
