Guide to St. Patrick’s Day in Kingston 2016

St. Patrick's Day in Kingston, OntarioSt. Patrick’s Day in Kingston is gearing up to be a lively affair! If you enjoy an Irish whiskey, a pint of Guinness, Irish strew or dancing to live, local music, we’ve assembled a great guide for you.  Kingstonist has compiled a list of local establishments that are celebrating with special events, outdoor tents and patios and, most importantly, live music! Check out our list of places to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Kingston.

Blu Martini (178 Ontario St.): Kingston Punk Productions presents The Mahones with guests Glands. Doors open at 9pm and tickets are $10 and are available at Blu Martini and online. 19+

The Brass (403 Princess St.): While their event calendar looks like any other Thursday (trivia and a wing and pint special) I’m sure the Irish tunes will come out when Smitty hits the stage at 11pm.

The Loyal Oarsman (1724 Bath Rd.): Celtic Kitchen Party will take the stage from 1pm-8pm. No cover.

The Merchant (6a Princess St.): No mention of St. Pat’s on their site but music will be provided by The Stares, a local rock cover band. Chances are good they will whip out a few Irish diddies for the occasion.

The RCHA (193 Ontario St.): Kingston’s Irish legend Gerry O’Kane will be playing Irish tunes from 8:30pm on and, since St. Pat’s falls on a school night, he’ll be back to do it again on the 18th. $10 cover at the door.

The Toucan (76 Princess St.): Celebrate The Toucan’s 30th St. Pat’s with local Celtic band Dublin Down starting at 4pm until 2am. There is the promise of lots of free swag and, if it’s like past years, the patio will be open and heated! No cover.

Tir Nan Og (200 Ontario St.): The nog always does it up with an outdoor tent set up on Market St. and Irish music throughout the day including Celtic Kitchen Party, who hit the stage at 10pm.  Doors open at 11am, no cover.

If you’re not overly concerned with catching live Irish music and are really just looking for a reason to party on a Thursday, there are plenty of places having parties on St. Patrick’s Day in Kingston.  The Iron Duke, The Brooklyn, Red House, Sir John’s, The Mansion, The Portsmouth Tavern and The Brew Pub are all great venues for a fun St. Pat’s experience.  Even though none of these places are offering up any live music or specials that we can find, you’ll likely still find lots of fun at any of these popular Kingston bars.

So get your green on and get out there for a fun and safe day.  If we missed any events, please send ‘em our way and we’ll add them to the list.
